How to join?

Talk to a member or two about the collective. They will help you determine if the collective is right for you, and if you are right for the collective. They will bring you to the next meeting. If you are still interested after seeing how we operate (i.e. we haven't scared you away) then you can make your case and be accepted as a member.

We currently haven't had many meetings, but we do have a mailing list, and if you're interested in the collective, we can add you to that, so we can all get to know you, and you can get to know us.

Why to join?

Politically speaking, living and working collectively helps encourage a culture in this country that is more peaceful, healthy, and more efficient. By pooling our resources we get more done, with less money, and learn a lot from each other. In our collective nobody holds any more power than anyone else. It's a model for how we'd like the world to run (and heck, we're not even hippies). For more information about consensus, you might want to read the book "On Conflict and Consensus A Handbook on Formal Consensus Decisionmaking" by C.T. Butler and Amy Rothstein (available in its entirety here), or join your local Quaker Meeting House.

Added option for new prospective members to be able to join our mailing list to get to know us/etc.
