Like many found on stackexchange,, and r/dataisbeautiful, I am one of the many data enthusiasts who are interested in topics related to data (big and small), visualization, and modeling.

In my dayjob, I work as a data scientist in a research thinktank, and spend most of my time writing data pipelines in R and Python. I also have a background in economic research.

Like the basement of my first-generation parents, data.basement is my way of archiving those random thoughts and ideas that pop up during a partiuclarly long train ride. I expect much of what gets thrown down here to be primarily “junk”— the best you can hope for is at a moment in time, they say something worthwhile. If I’m lucky, there’ll be a handful of posts that will help someone along a path similar to mine.
